empire toyota anglers of the year, 2019

Congratulations to Matt and Rich Ford, Susquehanna Bass Association Anglers of the Year (sponsored by Empire Toyota) for the second year in a row. This year they had a total weight of 108.39 lb (after dropping their two lowest weights). Their outstanding season included two first place and three fourth place finishes, and the biggest bag of the year at 18.05 lb.  Click here for complete standings for the year

The annual Art and Nate VanSteenburg Memorial Classic was held on Otsego Lake, October 19-20. Seventeen teams competed, and most brought in a limit both days. Unlike recent years, the tournament was dominated by anglers who caught largemouths, with Frank Microni and Steve Llewellyn catching a total of 28.22 lb for first place honors. Frank's son Greg, fishing with Ron Thomas, took second place with 25.26 lb, including the big fish of the tournament at 4.85 lb.  See Results and Standings for complete results.

The Goodyear tournament also ended the race for Angers of the Year, with Matt and Rich Ford beating out second place Bruce Hall and Amos Bates. After subtracting their lowest two tournament, Matt and Rich won by just 0.52 lb!
