Spring is finally here (sort of). Ice is gone from about half of the lake, and should be completely gone if we get a few more warm days. I'll be getting the boat out in the next week or two and fishing once the water warms up a little. Fishing is usually excellent from about the middle of May.
I specialize in bass fishing with artificial lures, but can offer a variety of trips for one or two people.
NOTE: I encourage "catch and release" fishing. There's nothing wrong with keeping an occasional fish to eat, but more than 90% of the fish shown on this website were released unharmed.
Check out a couple of recent videos; fishing with Craig and Ron Norris (thanks, Craig), and some aerial views of the lake courtesy of Bill Vining and his drone.
Bass are the most popular game fish in the United States, and Otsego Lake, NY is one of the best bass fishing lakes in the State. Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn more about one of the fastest growing sports in the country, a bass fishing enthusiast, or you just want to get out on the water, we can offer you a great trip.
I fish from a 2014, Nitro Z7 bass boat. I specialize in largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing with artificial lures. In addition, I offer panfish trips (for perch, bluegills, rock bass) using live bait. This is a great way to introduce kids to fishing, with plenty of action. Please explore my web site and contact me with any questions you may have, or to request a reservation.
