January 18: The 2011 season was our best yet, but now the boat is in storage for the winter and all we can do is long for the 2012 season. We'll be fishing again as soon as the ice is off the lake, which is usually around the end of April. May and June offer some of the best bass fishing of the year, so think about an early season trip.

Bass fishing in New York is strictly "catch and release" until the regular season opens on the third Saturday in June (but we always strongly encourage catch and release fishing anyway).

The largemouth in the picture below was caught during a tournament in June of 2011. The fish weighed 6.17 lb and helped us win the tournament, plus took big fish. It also wound up being the Susquehanna Bass Association's big fish of the year!

Bass are the most popular game fish in the United States, and Cooperstown’s Otsego Lake is one of the best bass fishing lakes in New York. Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn more about one of the fastest growing sports in the country, a bass fishing enthusiast, or you just want to get out on the water, we can offer you a great trip. We fish from a fully rigged Triton TR19 bass boat.

We specialize in largemouth and smallmouth bass fishing with artificial lures. In addition, we offer panfish trips (for perch, bluegills, rock bass) using live bait. This is a great way to introduce kids to fishing, with plenty of action.
